I'd like to take a moment to discuss a trap for most people who are on the path towards their goals and dreams. I call it 'The Comfort Zone'.
To use imagery, picture the Comfort Zone like a Pit Stop on the Raceway of Life. Like the F1 race cars, they just go in to change tires, re-fuel, get the engines/breaks checked and then they're back off on the race track. Similarly, you shouldn't stay in the pit stop (i.e. the comfort zone) too long, doing so will only lead to the paralysis of your perseverance, i.e. a state of complacency, not going forward, just staying at the exact same spot you are. Nobody who's ambitious and in their right mind, would and/or should be satisfied by doing nothing and going nowhere. It goes against the purpose of their plans: Achieving them!
To reiterate and emphasize this even more, complacency (i.e. being idle too long) kills drive and creativity. Drive helps you Thrive... Creativity breeds Ingenuity - Together they enrich your Life. However, getting too comfortable in the comfort zone undermine creativity and drive, and will eventually jeopardize your chances of attaining your goals.
Here are a few tricks I've picked up and taught myself:
- Constantly remind myself of my plans, goals and dreams.
- Write them down, even post them up on a wall so I can seem them daily
- Force myself to do something outside of my own regular nature (of course, without it causing any harm to anybody else).
There are other tricks but the beauty of life is for you to LIVE IT TO THE FULLEST and Experience It YOUR Way. Learning is part of Living, Learning helps you Grow and nurtures Spiritual Enlightenment as well as Intellectual Evolution.
All that to say, take time to enjoy life, but don't take too much time sitting in the comfort zone doing nothing while others pass you by on the speedway of Life. Re-fuel up, recharge your batteries, don't over analyze yourself or your actions and get back in the racetrack and keep going after your goals and dreams.
From my soul to yours,
LOVE & BLESSINGS.
